Raising the bar for Higher Education.
Today’s campuses face more demands than ever: remote and hybrid learning, always-on students, growing safety expectations, sustainability goals and intense competition for enrollment. One upgrade makes it all work together—reliable mobile connectivity.

The foundation for safer, smarter campuses.
Connectivity must keep up with campus life. Students and staff expect uninterrupted mobile service across residence halls, academic buildings, labs, libraries, parking decks, stadiums and athletic venues. Meanwhile, universities must support safety systems, IoT buildings, EV charging, sustainability goals and emergency communications—often with limited budgets and stretched teams.
TDC brings simplicity to it all. We design, fund, build, operate and continuously upgrade mobile connectivity solutions—across a single campus or an entire university system. You get secure, dependable, indoor-to-outdoor mobility that makes campuses safer, improves learning and student life, advances sustainability and provides predictable costs. No upfront investment. Evergreen lifecycle upgrades. Fully managed from start to finish.
Higher Education connectivity by the numbers.

Connectivity built for every campus.
Give your institution the confidence, safety and scalability required in today’s learning environment to compete—and lead.
Coverage everywhere.
No dead zones campus wide. Students and faculty stay seamlessly connected indoors and outdoors—even in difficult areas like historic buildings, dorm basements and high-capacity student centers.
Campus safety that works.
Emergency calling cannot be placed over Wi-Fi alone. Reliable cell coverage can power e911, blue light safety, first-responder radios and emergency alerts, ensuring help is always reachable.

Equipped for modern learning.
Modern learning depends on always-on connectivity—supporting hybrid classes, research tools, IoT and sustainable campus initiatives like EV charging. Connectivity may even be structured to align with how institutions already support student technology fees.
An enrollment advantage.
Students increasingly choose campuses based on digital experience. Strong connectivity improves recruitment, supports hybrid learning and creates a modern campus environment that keeps students engaged—and enrolled.

Real answers to industry misconceptions.
Mobile connectivity is changing by the day. When you partner with us, we bring the transparent guidance and seasoned insight today’s complex connectivity decisions demand.
Wi-Fi alone is enough for campus connectivity.
Bust the Myth
Emergency calling over Wi-Fi is a last resort. Wi-Fi works well in localized areas for text and web browsing. When it comes to voice and high-capacity applications, cellular is the preferred solution. Often universities and college campuses require a hybrid approach.
My aging cellular system will continue to work just fine.
Bust the Myth
Legacy cellular systems weren’t designed for today’s usage, devices or capacity demands. As carriers upgrade networks, older infrastructure struggles to keep up—leading to dropped calls, slower data speeds, coverage gaps and increasing maintenance costs. Over time, aging systems become harder to support as parts are scare and unable to be monitored because they can’t recognize later generation wireless standards like 5G.
Mobile connectivity requires major upfront capital.
Bust the Myth
With Network-as-a-Service and flexible funding models, including student technology fees, campuses can deploy enterprise-grade connectivity with $0 upfront investment.

How to think about connectivity.
Executive Leadership and Finance
Think in terms of value, safety and long-term ROI.
Connectivity is no longer just an IT expense—it’s a strategic investment tied to enrollment and retention. Reliable cellular and Wi-Fi networks shape how prospective students evaluate a campus, how current students experience daily life and whether they choose to stay. Strong connectivity enables digital services, supports campus safety and drives operational efficiency, protecting both student satisfaction and institutional value. Poor connectivity increases support costs, disrupts services and undermines a safe, secure student experience—quietly impacting student safety, rankings, reputation and long-term financial performance.
Academic Leadership
Think in terms of learning outcomes and flexibility.
Modern teaching and research depend on always-on mobile connectivity. Hybrid learning, digital course materials, collaborative tools and research applications require seamless mobile performance across classrooms, labs, libraries and residence halls. Strong networks give faculty the flexibility to innovate academically while ensuring students can learn effectively wherever education happens.
Facilities & Operations
Think in terms of reliability and campus performance.
Day-to-day campus operations rely on consistent connectivity indoors and outdoors. Access control, blue-light safety systems, EV charging energy management, building systems, stadium environments and IoT sensors fail without reliable signal. Modern connectivity reduces downtime, improves sustainability initiatives and keeps campuses running smoothly—without constant retrofits or emergency fixes that result from aging solutions.
IT, Digital Transformation & Security Leaders
Think in terms of security, scale and control.
A connected campus requires more than Wi-Fi alone. Cellular is essential for emergency calling, secure communications and high-density environments. A unified, resilient network reduces complexity, protects data and scales to meet growing demands—from research computing and IoT to mobile credentials and next-generation learning platforms.
Students
Think in terms of experience and choice.
Connectivity shapes how students experience campus life, from classrooms to residence halls and dorms. Reliable mobile service is no longer a perk. It’s essential for daily life. From streaming lectures and collaborating on projects to navigating campus safely and staying connected at events, reliable mobile service is expected. Strong connectivity supports learning, safety and community—and increasingly influences how students and parents choose where to enroll and stay.
Answers to some common questions from clients like you:
I have multiple buildings across a large campus. Can you guarantee that you’ll cover all of them?
TDC’s design process includes a clear analysis to ensure coverage and capacity align with your actual needs. Because we build custom-fit solutions, we can balance performance with cost efficiency. This helps avoid the common industry issue of receiving an underpowered design that looks economical upfront but fails to deliver in real-world use. For expanding campuses, we balance Day 1 investments with long-term needs, using flexible headend and network planning to prepare for future growth.
Can outdoor cell towers and Wi-Fi solve the mobile connectivity needs of my campus?
Macro cell towers are designed to serve large outdoor areas, not penetrate deep into buildings. Even if a tower is nearby, its signal weakens when it hits dense materials like concrete, steel or Low-E glass. In busy areas, towers can also become overloaded.
Wi-Fi and cellular solve different problems and are complementary. Think of a DAS like your major highway, far reaching and travels with you. Wi-Fi is like a private road off the highway—focused on a specific area and limited to those boundaries and speed limits. Wi-Fi delivers localized connectivity and is great for data on known devices, but it can’t replace cellular for things like voice calls, high-capacity applications, public safety and security, or indoor to outdoor use cases. Cellular DAS or Private Networks provide higher reliability, better mobility and stronger performance.
Do you work with a preferred Wireless Carrier?
All of them. TDC provides “neutral host” solutions. Neutral host means a single shared infrastructure that supports multiple Wireless Carriers (AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile) at once. Instead of each Wireless Carrier installing its own system, a neutral-host DAS provides one platform that everyone can connect to—reducing cost, improving coverage and delivering a better experience for all users campus wide.
Level up campus connectivity.
From safety to student experience and operational efficiency, we design networks that keep colleges and universities in the game.
