Wi-Fi 6 / 7
Next-generation wireless for localized, fast connectivity.
Delivering the bandwidth today’s Wi-Fi environments demand.
More devices, more apps, more everything—your Wi-Fi has never worked harder. Legacy Wi-Fi 5 can’t keep up, and your tenants, guests, shoppers and visitors feel it instantly. Wi-Fi 6 delivers the speed and efficiency today demands, while Wi-Fi 7 takes performance even further.
This is our lane. TDC deploys Wi-Fi 6 or 7 as a fully managed service—no operational burden on your team. Just fast, resilient connectivity that’s ready for whatever (or whoever) logs on next.

Real answers to Managed Wi-Fi’s misconceptions.
Mobile connectivity is changing by the day. When you partner with us, we bring the transparent guidance and seasoned insight today’s complex connectivity decisions demand.
A few more access points will fix it.
Bust the Myth
More access points can’t always solve cellular coverage issues, and piling them on can eventually become costly, inefficient and disruptive. Neither technology should be ruled out or forced upfront. The right approach starts with a thorough assessment of your property, business and performance goals—then applies the right tool, or combination of tools.
Wi-Fi is set it and forget it.
Bust the Myth
Not anymore. Modern Wi-Fi requires ongoing monitoring, tuning and updates to keep performance consistent as users, devices and applications change constantly change. Without active management, congestion, interference and outages quickly impact the experience. That’s where TDC shines, offering a fully-managed service so it’s off your plate.
Wi-Fi isn’t secure.
Bust the Myth
It depends. Wi-Fi can be complicated because you never always know who might be on the network. A well-planned design is critical to prioritize traffic, control access and protect sensitive data. Many organizations use a hybrid approach—combining Wi-Fi with cellular—to provide secure, segmented access. New technologies like Wi-Fi 7 also allow for network slicing, creating mini “zones” that can be walled off for specific users, enhancing security and control.
What does it take to transform Wi-Fi 6 or 7 on your property?
Infrastructure Readiness
Your networks need to be upgraded to a cloud-based architecture with built-in AI for IT operations (AIOps).
Stronger Security
To secure your Wi-Fi 6 or 7 network, you need a clear access plan that checks every device before it connects, enforcing Zero Trust policies through device verification.
Power Demands
Wi-Fi 7 access points use more power than earlier generations. It may be necessary to upgrade electrical systems.
Why managed Wi-Fi outperforms every time.
With TDC’s Network-As-A-Service offering, we manage and maintain the wireless network for your property. That means we design, fund, build, operate and maintain the network to ensure reliable, seamless access throughout the property.

What our partners and customers say about TDC.
FAQs about Wi-Fi.
Will all my devices be compatible with Wi-Fi 6 and 7?
Yes, Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 are backward compatible with any device that connects to Wi-Fi. However, not every older device will be able to gain the speed and bandwidth advantages of the new generation of Wi-Fi.
When will Wi-Fi 7 be available?
Now. Wi-Fi 7 is expected to become widely adopted in 2026. Depending on your needs, it may be wise to wait until the ecosystem matures before adopting it.
What will I need to do to take advantage of Wi-Fi 7?
Adopting Wi-Fi 7 will likely require an upgrade to your electrical power to connect Wi-Fi access points, and a strengthening of network security policies since the surface attack area continues to expand.
Can I use Wi-Fi for everything?
It depends. Wi-Fi and cellular solve different problems and are complementary.
Think of a cellular DAS like your major highway, far reaching and travels with you. Wi-Fi is like a private road off the highway—focused on a specific area and limited to those boundaries and speed limits. Wi-Fi delivers high-capacity, localized connectivity and is great for data on known devices, but it can’t replace cellular for things like voice calls, mobile payments, public safety and security, critical business applications or indoor to outdoor use cases. Cellular DAS or Private Networks provide higher reliability, better mobility and often stronger security.
Most buildings need both Wi-Fi and cellular working together.
Can I take a hybrid approach across cellular DAS, Wi-Fi and Private Networks?
Yes. We offer integrated solutions that combine cellular DAS, Wi-Fi and Private networks into a platform—ensuring each area of your building uses the right technology for the right purpose. These solutions each serve a distinct purpose:
Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)
- Provides enhanced cellular coverage for everyday mobile phone use
- Supports major carriers (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile) for voice, text and data
- Improves tenant, employee, guest and IoT device connectivity
- Often funded by the property owner and fully managed by a third-party operator
- Focused on business performance, productivity and user experience
Wi-Fi
- Provides secure, high-performance Wi-Fi for tenants, guests and employees
- Supports localized areas with defined capacity for text and data
- Not intended for voice, emergency calling or highly secure applications
- Funded by the property owner and fully managed by a third-party operator
- Wi-Fi 7 may provide greater isolation from public traffic
Private Networks
- A dedicated network for your organization
- Currently a single-Carrier solution
- Provides high security, guaranteed bandwidth and isolation from public traffic
- Supports sensitive applications, corporate devices or high-density IoT deployments that occur in properties like hospitals or manufacturing facilities
- Offers potential monetization through access to data analytics
- Higher cost compared to DAS or Wi-Fi under current architecture
