Frequently Asked Questions

Everything building owners, property managers, and enterprises need to know about mobile connectivity—from 5G and cellular signal to collaborating seamlessly with Wireless Carriers.

As-A-Service Model

As a Network-as-a-Service solution, TDC guarantees the performance of your mobile connectivity solution over the life of the contract. This includes regular and proactive maintenance, required Wireless Carrier upgrades like moving from 4G to 5G equipment, or expansion to new floors or in-building relocations. Should it be required, we propose a simple, contractual structure to guide future updates. Certain change orders, with limited scope, may only require a quick process and implementation.

FTTE uses fiber cabling to deliver cellular signal deep into your building. It’s ideal for building layouts with short distribution paths and space for edge antennas. This typically occurs in modern buildings, and office environments that do not need to overcome interference from macro towers outside.

Coax (coaxial cabling) is the older method used in many legacy systems. It works well for smaller or simpler environments where space, pathways, or RF constraints require a different approach. This usually occurs in large, sprawling and open spaces, where more power is required to compete with the outdoor RF environment.

Each solution is valuable for different use cases, and is highly dependent on specific requirements and use cases, the layout of the property, and surrounding outdoor environment.

TDC handles all lifecycle upgrades. As wireless standards evolve or new technology becomes available, we deploy updates with minimal disruption, ensuring your network remains modern and efficient.

An aging DAS can create serious coverage, cost and performance issues that include:

  • Long refresh timeline
  • Extended maintenance cycles
  • Higher operating costs
  • Reduced performance
  • Limited visibility

The process typically starts with a property evaluation and needs assessment. From there, we provide a solution proposal tailored to your building, business and industry requirements. Once approved, we complete a full design and kick off installation and activation — including performance testing, reporting, and optimization. After deployment, we transition your solution to ongoing managed services to ensure continuous reliability and performance and management of lifecycle upgrades.

Wireless Carrier Signal Source

A Wireless Carrier signal source is the “origin point” of cellular service from a mobile network operator (MNO) — in our case, AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile. It’s essentially the same signal your phone receives from a cell tower, but delivered directly to your property. This source powers reliable mobile connectivity for voice, text and data inside areas where outdoor coverage can’t reach.

Wireless Carriers own and regulate the signal source and require approval to use their cellular signal. Third-Party Operators (3POs) like TDC work on their behalf, helping enterprises secure the signal source and deploy the right mobile connectivity solution to distribute it throughout the property.

Partners & Ecosystem Integration

TDC takes a fully agnostic approach, designing every solution to address each client’s unique technical and business challenges. We don’t favor specific vendors or technologies; instead, we leverage our expertise to deliver measurable business outcomes. That said, we maintain strong partnerships that act as extensions of our team, valuing the deep expertise across the mobile connectivity ecosystem.
