Signal Source as a Service (SSaaS)

Managed cellular signal, simplified across all three Wireless Carriers.

Most mobile connectivity problems aren’t about hardware. They’re about signal.

A Distributed Antenna System (DAS) is only as good as the signal feeding it. Think of a DAS like a sound system: the antennas are the speakers, but without music, there’s nothing to amplify. Signal source is that music. And sourcing it from AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile is where most deployments stall, go over budget or miss deadlines entirely.

TDC’s Signal Source as a Service (SSaaS) transforms cellular connectivity from a capital-intensive project into predictable OpEx with one partner, one contract and one managed service. We guarantee three Wireless Carriers live on Day 1—and we back that promise with contract terms that put the risk on us, not you.

One partner. Trusted by every Wireless Carrier. Zero surprises.

Cellular connectivity depends on more than great engineering. It also requires trusted relationships. TDC combines deep solutions expertise with longstanding relationships across national, regional and local Wireless Carrier teams to coordinate approvals, funding opportunities and long-term network planning.

Designed for your property, managed like it’s ours. Our engineers right-size every deployment to your needs, with a clear timeline from day one. Then we stay on as an extension of your team, handling Wireless Carrier engagement, monitoring and upgrades so you can focus on your business.

Icon that represents financing.

No upfront investment

We replace unpredictable upfront costs and unnecessary surprises with a predictable monthly operating expense which means no upfront investment from you.

Single point of accountability

One contract covers strategic planning and sourcing of cellular signal from design and funding to procurement. Because every Wireless Carrier has its own engineering standards, TDC manages these complexities on your behalf to keep deployment on track.

Wireless Carrier engagement

We turn Wireless Carrier participation from a black box into a transparent, predictable service—securing three-carrier participation and unique carrier-by-carrier design approvals to align delivery with your business requirements.

Future-ready design expertise

We don’t design just for today. Our deep relationships with the major Wireless Carriers keep you ahead of industry changes, including spectrum transitions like C-Band and 2.5GHz. Our managed service includes proactive lifecycle upgrades—so when Wireless Carriers evolve, your solution evolves with them.

Real answers to SSaaS misconceptions.

Mobile connectivity is changing by the day. When you partner with us, we bring the transparent guidance and seasoned insight today’s complex cellular signal decisions demand.

My vendor handles signal source.

Bust the Myth

Hardware vendors are often focused on distribution. Signal source requires direct Wireless Carrier engagement, approvals and ongoing coordination that many System Integrators, OEMs and traditional partners don’t manage. Without a dedicated signal source strategy, you risk poor or no coverage, delayed timelines and a solution that underperforms from day one.

Signal source is a one-time setup.

Bust the Myth

Wireless Carriers evolve their technology and spectrum constantly. A signal source that works today may need reconfiguration as Wireless Carriers sunset bands or shift to new spectrum. SSaaS includes proactive lifecycle management so your investment doesn’t become obsolete.

I can manage Wireless Carrier relationships myself.

Bust the Myth

That’s fair—and if you already have strong Wireless Carrier relationships, that’s a real asset. But getting all three Wireless Carriers to participate isn’t just relationship management: it’s navigating approvals, contracts and technical requirements across three separate organizations, each with its own processes and FCC-regulated engineering standards. That complexity is where timelines usually slip. TDC’s established Wireless Carrier relationships and proven process compress those timelines and remove the surprises. We also plug into your existing Wireless Carrier relationships—including mobility and handset agreements—so those investments work harder for this project.

SSaaS, DAS or Private Networks—understand the difference.

Not every property needs the same solution. Here’s where each one fits in the TDC model.

FAQs about SSaaS.

What if I already have a DAS but don’t have a path to signal source?

This is more common than many building owners realize. We’ve seen many orphaned DAS deployments where the solution was installed, but Wireless Carrier participation never materialized, leaving the system unable to deliver the coverage it was designed to provide.

TDC can evaluate your existing DAS, identify what’s preventing Wireless Carrier participation and determine the best path forward. The earlier we’re involved, the more options you’ll have. Our long-standing Wireless Carrier relationships and experience navigating technical and commercial requirements help us bridge the gap between building operators and Wireless Carriers to get projects moving again.

A DAS is the distribution solution (antennas, cabling, headend equipment). Signal source is the cellular signal that feeds it. SSaaS specifically addresses signal sourcing and Wireless Carrier engagement, which is the step most often responsible for deployment delays and cost overruns. Many properties need both; TDC can manage either or both under a single contract. If you work with TDC on a DAS, signal source and the Wireless Carrier engagement is already provided.

It depends on the property and Wireless Carriers involved, but TDC’s existing relationships and managed process are specifically designed to compress the timelines that cause most deployments to stall. We’ll give you realistic milestones upfront based on real-life deployments, not optimistic estimates that slip. We also work with clients on temporary solutions for Day 1 if dedicated signal source is required, which can take longer.
