Industries powered by Managed Services.
Partnership you can trust.
The house wins when connectivity works.
PENN Entertainment required a solution that could support thousands of devices simultaneously, unlock its Cordless, Cashless and Contactless strategy, ensure FirstNet readiness and scale to future technologies like iGaming and sports betting.
Strong science starts with strong signal.
500 Rutherford Avenue, a 360,000-square-foot Lincoln Properties life science facility in Charlestown’s Hood Park, needed a next-generation mobile network capable of supporting fast growing research and technology tenants operating within a challenging, RF-blocking lab environment.
Connectivity designed for luxury guests and 40+ stories.
Ensuring connectivity in a high-rise, luxury hotel is challenging. Dynamic guest traffic, premium design expectations and the size of the building make indoor cellular coverage difficult – especially during peak events or when nearby venues drive sudden surges in demand. After multiple stalled deployment attempts, this property grew understandably hesitant about choosing a new partner.
FAQs about Managed Services.
What are the main benefits of TDC’s managed services?
TDC’s Managed Services offers an alternative to owning and running your own network. Having a third party run your network means having someone else take over the complex workloads of network design, network operations, Wireless Carrier contracts and relationships, network monitoring, technology integration and upgrades. It takes dozens of steps into 3-5-guided decisions for you. And, there’s no up-front cost. Instead, you pay a predictable monthly service fee. Your property’s network becomes an operating expense (OpEx), with no capital expense (CapEx).
What are some disadvantages of owning your property’s network?
Owning and operating your property’s network can prove quite challenging for organizations that lack the required expertise. Networks are constantly changing, with new wireless spectrum to cover and equipment to install and integrate. You’re likely to get many unexpectedly surprise costs related to owning the network. Hassles abound, such as the need to handle a complex upgrade with the Wireless Carriers or hire a replacement resources to oversee the network.
How does a traditional DAS differ from Network-as-a-Service?
DAS as a Network-as-a-Service is a turnkey solution where a third-party operator (3PO) designs, installs and manages your Distributed Antenna System (DAS). Unlike traditional DAS, you don’t need to buy, own or maintain the equipment—everything is delivered as a managed service, often on a subscription basis.
What’s included in your managed service?
When you work with TDC in a managed service model, we provide all maintenance, monitoring, repairs, spares and lifecycle upgrades. This includes Wireless Carrier Engagement, which is a complex, multi-step process to get design approval from AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile and secure their dedicated cellular signal if required.
What’s your approach to networking monitoring?
TDC employs one of the largest DAS-specific Network Operations Centers (NOC) in the U.S. Fully redundant with back-up power and geo-redundancy, our NOC also exclusively provides monitoring for all DAS deployments for a major Wireless Service Provider. Our 24x7x365 network monitoring solution includes:
- Access to real-time dashboard for complete visibility and transparency
- Defined escalation matrix aligned to automated alarms and incident level
- Defined Service Level agreements
- Local resources for dispatch
